The book is the result of a project begun in 2007 which saw the participation of the Italian Cultural Institute, University of Bologna, Department of Italian language and Fundapatrimonio the UCV. The initial idea was to promote poetry through the affinities shared by the peoples 'Caribeño' and Mediterranean, reflecting positively on the contribution of cultural encounters. Many poets, including many Italian-Venezuelan, were presented with their poems in front of the Romagna Rondoni, breeder and judge for the occasion.
- The initiative arose years ago Venezuelan interest in poetry - declared under the director of the IIC, Luigina Peddie - and the series of cultural affinity and historical Italy and Venezuela share. The IIC wanted to proceed with the proposal by collecting the poems chosen. Poems of good quality, some excellent.

During the evening, which was a great success, four finalists were called on stage to read their poems. The audience listened attentively 'La cama' , poetry winner Eleonora Requena and poems of other poets on the podium: Alda Rippe, Reinaldo Bello Warriors, Isaidi Vega, Ruth Hernandez Buzcan.
- At the public felt a certain awe of artists - says the director of the IIC - not because people are more used to listen to the emotions. Also poetry is a language against which clashes with the overabundance of words and information that bombards us daily. We must concentrate, try to understand, interpret each term.
After the proclamation of the works, the public has been confronted with the poets in direct dialogue.
